My CD ROM will not read CD ROMS and has called itself CD
DRIVE,When I look in properties the used space says it is
full even without a disc in the drive.The error report
says the drive has a bad block, can anybody help please.

Alan,
It means NT had a bit of trouble reading a CD-ROM disc. I sometimes
see
that error. I believe it is usually caused by a scratched or otherwise
marked disc. If you are continuously seeing that message, it's possible
your CD-ROM drive is going bad or needs a cleaning.
