Trying to load XP Home edition upgrade over win98
but get no further than telling me to"please wait "for setup to start.I had
the same problem last night when I tried to load XP Pro after doing a full
format. Then I tried w98 and it loaded first time-hence the reason I tried
the upgrade tonight.Any ideas??

Since this happens with a clean-install also it may be related to a
problem with the CD or with your hardware. If possible, disconnect all
devices that are not necessary to install Windows and retry.

Have you run the Win XP upgrade advisor? If not suggest you do. Its on the
Win XP CD.

It's hanging on some piece of hardware it doesn't like. Try loading it
with everything removed (hardware) except your video card and see if
it will load.
