I'm running a matched pair of Geil 2 of Geil Value Series 512MB PC-3200
DDR-400 184-Pin And a
1 of Geil 256MB PC-3200 DDR-400 RAM 184-pin Is the extra 256 stick
unnecessary?

The two 512 sticks are not needed if all you're doing is
browsing the web, writing a few emails and doing chatrooms.
But if you are doing video or photo-editing, creating
webpages, calculating a large spreadsheet, you could use
more.
Only you know what you're doing and need.
