XP Pro cd-rom won't release contents of previous disc

Here's the low down, new Gateway 2.5 ghz p4. Norton Sys.
Works, Roxio 6, Nero 6 installed. Thought it might have
something to do w/ these products, uninst. all of them
and nothing, still won't release contents until rebooting.
I'm thinking some sort of reg. hack, any suggs. please,
also SP1a.

No that doesn't work either tried probably a thousand
times maybe two. Have to be much more technical than
