Yesterday I applied the DirectX XP update KB839643.
Since I did this both my CD Drives (a NEC DVD/RW ND-1100A
and a Samsung SC148C) will not work. Harware manager is
listing the devices with the usual exclamation yellow
mark and is reporting a CODE 19 on both drives. This
appears to indicate a registry error.
Has anyone else had this problem with this update, as
everything was working fine until the moment the update
was applied. MY PC is a Dell 4550 with a 120Gig HDD and
1 Meg RAM
Any help or advice would be much appreciated, and if you
