I'm trying to rename some folders and all i'm getting is an error saying
"Cannot rename blah blah blah: It is being used by another person or
program.
Close any programs that might be using the file and try again"
Thing is i'm the only one using pc so nobody else using it unless Lord Lucan
is living in my flat and i dn't know it, and as for other programs well Tag
& Rename was looking at folder but i have shut that down and hit F5 to
refresh desktop and i still get the same, yes i am new to XP so please treat
me like an idiot (most people on the web do) :))

Hi
Some of the System folders can't be renamed. If not those try renaming them
from a command prompt. At the command prompt type the following to see the
options available for renaming folders:
ren /?

You may very well have an MP3 player or other program
running in the background that is using that folder. Try
CTRL-ALT-DEL and see if you can do an End Task on anything
to do with MP3's you weren't aware was being loaded.
Failing that, I'd guess you whould be able to work with
folders OK from Safe Mode?
