Compaq presario 7476 install I/O error

I want to install Windows XP Professional on a Compaq Presario 7476 with a Camaro Series Motherboard
(MITAC 5114VU OEM) , I can't boot from de Cd so when I try to boot with the Installation Disk set appears a black screen with the message "I/O error".
This happens with W2K disk too, and occurs in two identical Compaq Pc's; but W98 start up disk run ok.
It seems to be a BIOS problem, but Compaq doesn't have a Bios update; ¿anybody knows what else can be?

Hello

Well if it is a Bios issue and you cannot update the Bios, to some
degree
your pretty much at a lost. And really you don't have any choices maybe
to replace
that pc, but your best optionis Compaq T.Support but if they don't help
you
your on your own. You could do a search on google.com to see if anyone
has that same issue but in the end you will more than likely replace
your
system or get a new one.

Hi I Have The Same Computer Compaq 7475 And I Install Windows Xp Professional With Cd. And Works Ok. May Be Your Cd Is Not Working.

My Problem Is That I Cant Install A Memory Of 256. I Whant To Know If I Can Update The Bios. Please Help With That.
