Since upgrading to Windows Messenger 5, I no longer get new mail
alerts for my Hotmail account and "My Email Inbox" on the File menu
opens Outlook Express. I tried the msnaddin patch but it gives the
error message "You don't have the latest version of Windows Messenger"
Is there a new version of msnaddin, (can't find one on the MS site),
or can I go back to WM 4.7?

Greetings John,

Add-Ins are no longer supported in Windows Messenger 5 and there is no other "Hotmail
support" within it. As such, you'll either need to go back to Windows Messenger 4.7 (just
download and run the installer from:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/messenger/download.asp) or use MSN Messenger 6 instead:
http://messenger.msn.com/Download
