View Full Version : Changing icon used in thumbnail view

I've changed my folder icons, so they no longer have the standard yellow
look. However, in thumbnail view the "background" icon or bitmap on which
the pictures from the folder are displayed is still looking the same. How
can I change the look of the folder thumbnail picture?

Thanks, but no. That changes the image displayed on to of the thumbnail
folder "icon", but I want to change the icon, i.e. the yellow background
that the pictures are placed upon.

Anyone?

I just reread your post. Sorry about my previous post. ;-(
I don't think you can, you can have one or the other, not both.

Thanks, so "they" seem to have put this yellow background inside some
Windows system file, then... like hard-coded. Too bad!

Looks like it's in shell32.dll. ResHacker shows it as part of icon =
group 4, icon 28. You could replace it there but you'd have to override =
SFC and shell32.dll can get updated with service packs.
