Fax confusion

Do I need to purchase software for faxing from a scanner or do I have to purchase a fax machine? I don't have a land line, only a cell.

If you don't have a landline, then how do you suppose the data is going to
travel? Wirelessly through the ether by the power of positive thought?!

You can't fax using a mobile. If you purchased a fax machine, how do you
propose connecting it to the telephone exchange?

You might as well ask "how do I fax using two tin cans and a piece of
string?"

Are you on Dial up or Broadband for your PC. If you dial
up then you do have a land line (though not for voice). You
can install windows fax in that case.

If you have broadband then you will need to subscribe to
net fax services.

Another idiot! How on earth can he have an internet connection *AT ALL* if
