I too experience the same.
My PS/2 keyboard won't work when my AOpen PS/2 mouse is
connected but when removed the keyboard works. The mouse
isn't working at all.
XP hangs as well.

Perhaps you have a bad mouse. Can you try this mouse on another system and
see if it works? Does a known good mouse from another system work on yours?
