I'm having the same issue, but when I look in device
manager, the drives are there, but have ! on each one. I
update drivers, says I am already using the best driver.
I remove them and scan for new hardware, it installed
both my CD-Rom and CD-RW, asked to reboot, and on reboot,
they both have ! again. I just installed Windows XP Pro
fresh on a clean 120 GB drive. Both cd drives work fine
on my Win98 hard drive.
CD-RW is an LG Electronics, model GCE-8320b and I can't
even find WinXP drivers for it.
