Lost document

I thought Windows saved automatically every ten minutes. My monitor went blank so I had to shut down hoping that would fix the problem. It did, but part of a document was not recovered. That part was finished hours before the monitor problem. I went throug
h "history" and Windows Explorer" with no luck. What did i do wrong? Thank you! (Windows XP)

Hi

The application you were using may have saved every X minutes. Which app.
were you using at the time and had you saved the document at least once?
You may be able to recover the document with a 3rd party program if you
can't see it:
