Anybody say why my xp home is so slow to shut down. When i select shut down
i can wait 1min 30 secs for machine to go off!!! 2.6 ghz and 256m ram

You didn't in some past event choose to clear the page file at shutdown did
you? That will slow it down big time.

No. It has been this way since new!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The more services that need to be shutdown the longer shutdown will take.
What do you have running?
