New slave drive problem

I intstalled a new Maxtor 40 GB as a slave drive. It
works fine except when I boot I get an error message that
says that I've installed new HW. The "Found New HW
Wizard" starts and even names the new drive (Maxtor
6E040L0).
The device manager sees this new drive but has the
yellow ! on it.
TO reiterate, the drive works fine, I can see it with
windows explorer and can move files to it.


Second question: can I move my "my documents' folders
and files to the new slave drive?
