installing new hardware

anyone know how to install new hardware? I had to
download the program to use it, but i got this scanner
and it turned on a few days ago, and now the computer
won't even pick it up. Any advice would really be
appreciated! Thanks!

Kristen, did the Scanner come with a Manual. Is it a USB Scanner? What
Make and Model is it? With that we maybe
able to help you.
