CD drive

Got a Q about my CD drive. I wrote various general files
to a CD on my home computer. I tried to open it on my
laptop and it opens with no files present, but when I
open in on my home computer it shows the files on the
CD. I tried the CD on someone elses computer and the
files were available in there. So i'm thinking something
with my laptop. So I get a different CD and try it in my
laptop and it reads that. So why isn't it reading from
CDs from my desktop? Any help would be aappreciated.
