Fails to write to floppy disc

XP machine reads floppy discs but does not write to
floppy. Error: remove write protect or insert another disc.
Write protect is off. Replaced floppy drive with another
drive working on another XP PC, same result.

Sounds like a cable problem. Did you replace the cable as well? If it is not
a cable problem then it might be a floppy controller flaking out. Most times
you will see this being a cable that is not seated well.
