cd & cd-rw drives not visible in My Computer

in device mangager all i get is this message, when i
check the properties, "Windows successfully loaded the
device driver for this hardware but cannot find the
hardware device. (Code 41)" as a result my cd & cd-rw are
not accessible!
anyone got any ideas? Please!
