I have been working with HP to no end, I cannot edit data
on a cd and then save it back using the same file name.
I receive "you do not have permission - see the
administrator to obtain permission" or the cd is marked
read only.
This is a windows xp problem as I have two friends who
recently installed xp and they have the same problem.

Any help out there??

It would be appreciated
Mike

Mike, you can't change data on a CD. You can send the file to MyDocuments
or copy and paste the file wherever you
want and then edit and save using same file name. Unless, you are
talking about a CD-RW disk.

And you can't do it even on a CD-RW with XP. You need packet writing
software to format the CD-RWs to use as a big floppies.
