I bought and installed a new CDRW (Sony CRX225A). When I
boot the system sees the new drive but when I start
windows it doesn't do a "NEW Hardware Found" task. The
drive is there in the device manager but it says "Windows
cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The
drive may be corrupted or missing (Code 39). I tried the
Add new hardware thing and the system tools device manager
route to no avail. If I load a CD into the drive it can't
even read it cause there is no driver. The only thing out
there is an unsigned Roxio driver for an HP9100 that gives
you warnings that it causes stability problems if you use
it so it's disabled. The drive doesn't even appear in the
Windows Explorer pane as a drive. I just installed a new
video card and everything went perfectly. I can load
the "bad" drivers and can get it to read but it keeps
generating errors and freezes. I checked Microsoft and
they have no sony drivers anywhere. What's up here?????
