I have 2 problems, first whenever I try to update windows
XP on my machine, My modem refuses to stay connected, and
the only fix is to restore back to before the upgades
were put in. Second, I recently had my computer go down
and I had to replace some major parts. Mother board,
harddrive, etc. I reloaded XP and now it shuts down after
a little while online. It displays a warning that says NT
Authority Systm is shutting down this machine. because
the remote procedure call service terminated
unexpectedly. What is that and how do I fix it? Thank You.

Carl
Start the computer and hit control - alt - delete when it is finished
booting.
GoTo Processes and click on Image name and look for MSBlaster.Exe.
Highlight the MSBlaster and click end process.
Go online and update your virus detector and scan your harddrive then do the
Windows Update.
