Hi, I'm stupid.
I lost power the other day (damn toaster) and my WinXP Pro SP2 RC1 machine stops about 2minutes after starting, logged in or not.
I have done all the chkdsk stuff and safe mode and NOTHING. Still stops.
Hardware is ok as it will run a LIVE Linux cd for hours.
How do I make this machine work?
I did not install the recovery console, make backups (even an image) and the machine does not have a floppy drive. In know. I'm stupid. BUT the data is safe on another drive.
Please help someone. Esoteric or destructive advice is welcome. Got a tip you didn't want to try at home. I'll do it. Anything.
Thanx.

Boot to the XP cd and do a repair install . If no joy , or if you do not
have this feature on your type of recovery disk a reformat and reinstall may
be you last option. Jym

Thanx Will.
I will repost there, however my question is more of a "anyone know another way to 'kick' XP to make it work or at least tell me where the corruption is?" type of post.
I put the version in for completeness.
Thanx for the extra info though.
