Floppy Drive

I installed a new motherboard with a P4 2.4Ghz. I have XP
pro on my machine. The Floppy drive work in Dos but will
not work when XP is booted. I insert a floppy disk and when
trying to read it the system freeze. I updated the bios
still no change. The drive is good because it work in my
other machine. Please can someone help?

which is a known issue with MS

Floppy will not format under Win XP
