Hi,
I'm having problem with my system suddenly - processes
like explorer.exe or System hav been using 99% of cpu in
turns & was unable to work. :(
I was told to use msconfig & disable all startups except
rundll32,directcd,msmsgs & Wkdetect & run in safe mode.
As it worked I tried to restore the system but it pops up
the message -'no enough disk space' but i have 10GB of
free space in my disk.
It's been like a week & i hav been using the system in
safe mode.
Could anybody tell me a solution to this problem & also
the cause of it?
Also is it ok to run in safe mode for a long time?
Thanks,
bye

You could be infected with Trojan. You could have some
looping program that is using your CPU chasing its tail.
You could have a number of errors in the registry and it is
looking for programs and files that aren't there or not on
the expect path.
If you are on line without a firewall and virus scan, safe
mode is vulnerable, that could be part of your problem.

Seeing if a problem follows you into Safe Mode or not is a
troubleshooting technique. It's a way to gather clues about what's going
on with your system.
Safe Mode loads basic hardware/drivers. It loads no startup programs. If
you can work in Safe Mode without the same problem showing up then it's
pretty safe to assume that your basic Windows installation is okay. Most
importantly, you have a strong indication that something "extra" that's
been added to Windows is at the root of your problems.
Start by reviewing the programs on your system that are allowed to load
at startup. Disable them all. Try Windows in Normal Mode again. If
things are still okay, you're still on the right track. Add a startup
item back. Restart and test some more.
HINT: Try getting rid of Wkdetect. It's an automatic updater for Works
and it's not necessary to run this all of the time. Also check that your
copy/version of DirectCD has the current updates installed.
For the "restore" question, what program are you trying to use for this?
What is the exact message that comes up when you try restore?
