I am having Floppy Drive problems.

Installed Win XP on a new hard drive. Also using a new
motherboard. After the install, I can view the contents
of a floppy disk, but immediately upon accessing the
floppy drive, it will not stop running (the light stays
on, it continues to try accessing the drive), and I am
unable to edit the files or write to the disk. When I
eject the disk, the drive stops running, and File
Explorer unfreezes so that I can access other drives.

1) Checked the cables; they are inserted correctly.
2) Checked the Floppy Drive; it works in an old machine,
and a new drive has the exact same problem on this
machine.
3) Checked the floppy disk; it works in an old machine,
and a new disk has the exact same problem on this machine.

Anyone have any ideas/suggestions?
