Please help. I recently bought an XP upgrade from Me.
It has defaulted to a plug-and-play monitor, instead of
giving me an option to choose my Compaq MV740. I have
downloaded, and installed, a driver from Compaq's
website, but to no avail. I am still given no options,
as far as a monitor is concerned.

What do I need to do to have XP recognize my Compaq
Monitor?

Try to remove both monitors in Device Manager and reboot. After XP reboots,
it should detect your Compaq monitor drivers.

Also, make sure your have installed the latest version of your motherbaord
drivers.
