Windows keeps insisting I have a new piece of hardware,
that I don't have. I jump thru all the hoops coming to
the one where I check a box that says "don't try to
install again" or something to that effect. BUT, it
keeps trying to install ANYWAY, everytime the computer
boots. Is there a way to disable automatic hardware
detection with XP? This is driving me batty!
Thanks for any help I may receive.

Jim:
Why not let windows install the Plug-N-Play device it found. Just walk it
through with OK's all the way, and it will put it to rest.
I hope this helps.
