I GET A "DEVICE CANNOT START -CODE 10" MESSAGE WHEN
INSTALLING JVC HM-DH30000.

A google search resulted in many hits indicating a faulty Firewire card, or
outdated or misinstalled drivers for same. Have you checked the card under
Device Manager?

I cannot find anything on the 3000 model, but the 4000 lists firewire input
only, which if this is the same, would account for it.
