I have up graded for Windows ME to Win XP+SP1 Pro and now
my external scanlogic hard drive will not work on my USB
port, when it did under ME. If i look in Device Manager
it says the disk is there and work properly but I cannot
read or write to it. When I look in Disk Manager it asks
me to run the initialize wizard which I do but I still
get the same reading for this disk which is:- Disk 1
Unknown 19.0GB Not installed. I have tried uninstalling
the drive and re installing but still have the same
problem. Please can anybody help if so please email me
direct. Thanks.

You will need to checkout the scanlogic site. I researching this I saw references to
a patch you needed to apply before doing the XP upgrade. Maybe some Win9x drivers
migrated to XP and are causing problems.
