I wish to make cd's from video tapes of old 8mm movies. I have attempted to do so and receive err messages to check device manager in the device manager I have a ? on the USB connection to my VRC ( I do not have a camcorder). How do I get the computer to r
ecognize the VCR so I may commence transferring the video tapes?

A USB and not a Firewire port? I thought VCR's and camcorders had Firewire.
Something new every day. Is it USB 1.1 or 2.0?
