I have recently built a new computer, but alas every now
and then the system restarts, I know this to be a
function of widows XP home edition. The error report at
the restart shows it to be caused by a driver but which
one is unknown.
The system is built on the following componants :-
MSI K7 KT4V motherboard (latest bios)
Ge Force FX 5200 128MB DDR Graphics card (last months
driver)
512MB DDR 333Mhz RAM
AMD Athelon XP 2400Mhz Processer
Mercury 56k V92 dial up modem
on board sound and 10/100 ethernet.
450 Watt power supply
The originaL error report said it was a fault with the
graphics card, i had read tat the one I had could cause
this trouble so i replaced the card with the Ge Force one
no change was apperant to the fault.
I have used MEMTEST86 V3.0 to test the RAM with no fault
apparent.
Does anyone have any idea at all about what may be
causing this? It does not happen at regular intervals or
using certain software, quitye a puzzle to me for i have
no ideras left at what to try to fix this.
I look forward to hearing from anyone :)
