Hi,

For the 1st question, try disable the auto start feature
and reboot. If it cannot boot up, try boot in safe mode
and then view the system information for detail errors.
I would suggest you to download the latest XP compatible
drivers for your sound card and display card.

For the 2nd question, I would think of the heat problems
on the CPU and display card. Make sure you have adequate
ventilation inside the chasis.
