If it comes from Microsoft's server, it will be safe... (for the most
part)

Did you mean safe to Install it?

Try it.. if it fails, restore back to before you installed it.

If you check the Upgrade site, you will see it has now moved back up to the
Critical Updates category.
This is the 'revised/fixed' update & works fine.
