CD - get msg that disk is not formated in a DVD drive

After writing a DVD I can't read any CD in the combo drive
on my Win XP system.
Anyone have this problem? I can't fix it. I've tried to
reinstall the drive to no avail. I've tried erasing the
hardware setup definition in the device mgr to no avail.
CD still does not read get "Disk is not formated".

So you have a DVD burner/CD Writer?

If you have, and youre using XP's builtin
burning. Dont use it. It cant format and
cant do packet-writing. get something
like DirectCD 5+, and it'll work.
