i posted a little while ago on here about how to install
windows xp properly - thank you for your help - i have
still 1 problem though, i had phoned pc world and asked
them how to fix my problem and they told me to reinstall
xp i did so and it only fixed part of the problem-
the problem was - i has lots of differnt files missing
includeing win32.exe and my NT AUTHORITY/SYSTEM had to
restart my computer as my remote procedure call(or
sumthing along those lines) had unexpectedly terminated.
what happend - i installed xp again it had restored all
the missing files BUT the NT AUTHORITY/SYSTEM was still
restarting my computer - i have an e-machine 270
could you please tell me how to fix my problem please as
it would be of great help as i need my computer to
finnish my gcse course work
thank you

Let me guess....this problem suddenly appeared shortly after you connected
to the internet?
If so, you became infected with the Blaster worm. Since you just
reinstalled Windows, chances are you haven't gotten much set up yet, so the
easiest way to get rid of the worm is to reinstall Windows again, but before
you connect to the internet, install your Anti-virus software. As soon as
you set up your internet connection, turn on the firewall (preferably before
even connecting, if possible). The firewall setting is on the advanced tab
of your connections properties. Once the firewall is turned on, connect to
the internet and update your antivirus definitions. Once those are updated,
connect to Windows Update and download and install all the critical software
fixes. Reboot after they install and you should be fine. Note: You may
have to reboot, reconnect to the internet and download more fixes if they
won't all install at once.

You have the MSBlaster Virus (worm?). Go here
http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/FixBlast.exe follow the
instructions for a removal tool then make sure you have all the Windows
Critical Updates from the windows update site. Also make sure that you are
running a firewall. And keep your Anti-virus software up to date.
