I just installed XP on my PC. I had win98 se previously, and am trying to
get to this PC, via ftp, from my mac using OS 10.2. Under win98 se, I could
ftp in from the mac and "get" or "put" a file. Under the current OS, I get
the message, "Connection refused". How do I set up the PC under XP to allow
access to files from the other machine? Thanks.

You need an FTP server. What FTP server did you install on Win98 SE?
You can try warftpd which is free. I believe XP comes with an FTP
service as well, though I never bothered how to find out how
