Instead of Explorer (Desktop, Start menu, Systray) I am using a custom shell as
described by
http://www.winguides.com/registry/display.php/849/
"Implement a User Based Custom Shell (Windows 2000/XP)"
at Registry Guide for Windows</title>

However, how can other necessary non-UI programs be run. Apparently,
Explorer.exe is the one that runs both programs in Startup folder and those
specified by [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Run]

I think that comma-delimited:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
will run the program with a custom shell (not done by explorer)
