Has any one else noticed that USB mice (both Logitech and
Microsoft) "often" come up dead after booting? It only
seems to happen after a boot-time chkdsk was run on the
system disk. Rebooting a second time fixes the problem,
alternatively just unplugging and plugging them in again
also fixes the problem. These are optical mice, and the
LED "eye" is dead when it happens, like the USB port has
no power. Why would the chkdsk cause this? Does AUTOCHK
do something? Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?
(btw I only have one mouse plugged in at a time,
generally)
Thanks.
