I installed the windows xp sp2 (obtain at security summit)
subsequently when I attempt to install office xp I get the
following message:
"The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. You
may be running in safe mode or Windows Installer may not
be correctly installed."
I an attempt to correct this problem I performed the
following:
re-registered the windows installer.
verified the location of the msiexec.exe file in the
registry.
renamed msi.dll, msiexec.exe, msihnd.dll. winxp recreated
the files.
THE PROBLEM REMAINS.
This problem has occured on two pc's. on one of the PC's
i attempted to reinstall windows xp and that failed.
Any and all suggestions appreciated!
