Today I installed an Iomega 250Mb ZIP drive on a new PC
running XP Pro. The BIOS recognised the drive, XP
can "see" the drive in Command mode, but I could not find
any way to show the drive letter in the My Computer
window.
The drive is installed as the Master on the second IDE
port with the CD Drive as the Slave. The CD show up as
drive "D:" and works OK.
As luck would have it, my client runs the QuickBooks
accounting software as the main application and needs to
back up at the end of each day. I can type in the backup
path to QuickBooks as "E:\Filename" and it works. I can
verify the backup on another system, but can not do a
restore as the drive does not show in explorer.
Any suggestion would be much appreciated.
Thanks and regards,
Janos.
