HELP, basic Networking question!

What are the most prevalent technologies used for Windows XP LANs? Ethernet?
Token ring? Something else? Where can I get a basic understanding of that on
the net, some basic info of what types of network cards, cabling wire, and
wire connectors are needed to install such a network in a building for among
say 20 Windows XP workstations for example?

A couple of other good resources on Windows networking. I think they're
really geared more towards the SOHO world but should answer most of your
basic questions.
