I am unable to modify Explorer to have Detail View for any removable
media - floppy or CD/DVD. I've manually set most of the folders in my
various hard drive partitions that way, and they persist (as I wish).
However, every time I open a removable device, I get the icons showing
(which is of no value to me). Is there a way to force _all_ views to be
Detail? TIA

richard,
you can try this:
open windows explorer. click view > details.
then tools > folder options > view tab > apply to all folders button.
hope that helps.
