View Full Version : Windows XP upgrade

At present I have Windows ME and I have no problems with
it.
I would like to upgrade to Windows XP.
I tried a demo CD some time ago and it included a method
of checking my system for the ease and suitability of the
upgrade.
This resulted in stating that my printer, scanner, CD
writer etc.etc etc....many items, were incompatible with
XP.
Scared of messing up my whole set-up, I shied right away
from installing the upgrade.
Now, maybe I can find the confidence to do it and I want
to get reassurance from someone that it is possible to do
it and that drivers are also easy to find and install.
If anyone can "hold my hand" and be "there" to help me,
then I might buy the upgrade and do it.
LIz.

Hello Liz

What you need o do before upgrading is to backup your
IMPORTANT DATA ok and for all your external devices
such as Printer, Scanner etc, go to the manufacturer of those
products websites and look for updated drivers ok,

Example www.hp.com ok, also see link below if you have
a re-writable cdrom drive you will have to upgrade your software
or do some updates depending if you have one or not and see
link below ok, good luck and keep me posted.
