Hi,
we run a SAMBA service for handling all printing functions
withing our facility.
In moving to Windows XP we experience a problem in creating
a printer (add new printer) to this service where Windows
XP tries to use spoolSS as the protocol instead of LanMan.
I understand that Lanman is old but our facility is mixed
Windows XP (planned) with Unix and Linux systems and we also
run a printing acounting suite so well need to keep track at
a central server/spooler so all machines must send print
requests through SAMBA at this time.
Is there an update or registry fixes to force LanMan to be
used as the preferred/sole protocol for adding a printer
in Windows XP..
