I have a 20 Gig hard drive in a portable container with a
FireWire connection. The drive is recognized on my main
PC running XP Pro and works OK. When I connect it to a
FireWire port on my second PC running XP Home, the drive
is not recognized by XP. I have tried moving the 1394 PCI
card to a different slot, but that has no effect. PCI bus
mastering is enabled on this PC. The adaptor card is an
Adaptec FireConnect 4300. Adaptec has no available drivers
for the card, but XP is supposed to provide native support
for the device. Has anyone else had this experience? I
would appreciate any suggestions of help.
