System Idle Process

When I press ctrl alt delete, and look at the processes
running, theres one called system idle process, and it
has a 99 under CPU. I was wondering, if I could get rid
of that process or not.

Run every program possible until your system comes to a screeching halt, =
then that high % will disappear, or you simply stop looking at it, =
because you cannot make it go away!

That's what it does when it has nothing to do.

Maybe they should rename it the "twiddle thumbs process". ;<)

If your car engine was idling 99% of the time, would you worry? Like a car
engine, unless you turn it off, your CPU has to be doing SOMETHING, even if
only idly waiting for your next instruction.
