My computer Icon changed

[Betty-registerd nurse]

For some reason the "my computer" icon has changed to a
lower case "r" and is very slow to open. I am not sure
why this has happened and did download some microsoft
updates that the update center stated I needed to
update. I ran the Norton Virus scanner and nothing was
found. Please I need help figuring this out. Thanks

I hope you didn't follow instructions from an e-mail telling you to install the
upgrade?
