I have a Lexmark Z23 printer. I currently do not have a
ny printer software on my computer because I uninstalled
it, but when I try to install the software it came with,
when the process is almost done installing the software
it says "Hardware might now work properly." So then the
computer is not recognizing the printer, and whenever I
turn on the computer, the automaic hardware installation
comes up. I have Windows XP. I am not sure what is
wrong. One of the messages says "There was a problem
with this hardware. An error occured during the
installation of the device. The specified module could
not be found." So it looks like the computer can't
understand the hardware. My printer is hooked into the
usb. Please help. I desperately need to fix this soon.
Thanks.

Did you try using the latest drivers from the Lexmark website?

Is the Prnt Spooler running?
From the Command Prompt, type:
net start spooler
(and hit enter)
lf it will not start, repost with the exact text of the error message.
