Hi
my mum has just bought a lexmark z601 printer, i have installed it on her laptop runnning XP pro connected via USB

Whenever i try to print the print job progress bar appears but only gets to about 45% before i get a error message saying machine jammed, but there is definitely no jam.

I have updated the driver, tested on another XP machine with same USB connection (no probs).

After troubleshooting i think it is something to do with the size of the print spooler because when i changed the printer properties to "start printing immediately" it worked for a small 6 line word document. However when i tired to print a 2 page document
it still failed.

i think it fails on the test page because of the detail it prints out.

Anyone any idea how to solve this, i have tried to work out how to change the size of the spooler but can't work it out.

Help would be appreciated.

My mum is waiting

Try one COMPLETE uninstall and reinstall of the printer .....

It's much more likely to be a problem caused by corrupted printer drivers.

After the cleanup, restart, download (yes again!) a new set of drivers from
the Lexmark website and install once more. Do NOT connect the printer to
the PC until the software tells you to do so.
